Electing to bat, Sri Lanka’s opening pair Harshita and skipper Chamira Attapattu got off to a fine start, putting on a 30-run partnership with the duo batting composedly in front of Australia’s lethal bowling.
In the fifth over, Captain Atapattu was caught out on a score of 30 runs, he scored 16 runs with the help of two fours and a six.
Sri Lanka scored 38 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in the first 6 overs of the power play and also completed the team’s first 50 runs in 42 balls.
Sri Lanka were 56 for 1 in the first 10 overs till drinks were played. Harshita Madhavi 27 and Vishmi Gunaratne were playing on a personal score of 11 runs.
