It is the home ground of Mumbai Indians in IPL cricket and Club City FC in football. The stadium has hosted 37 IPL matches so far, including the 2008 and 2010 IPL finals. Along with this, it has also hosted the FIFA U-17 World Cup and the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in December 2021–22.
