IND VS NZ 3rd ODI: India has defeated New Zealand by 90 runs in the third and final ODI match played today. With this, India has made a clean sweep of New Zealand 3–0 in the ODI series.

The Third ODI match of the ODI series between India and New Zealand was played today at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

Today New Zealand won the toss. Looking at the flat wicket, Tom Latham decided to bowl and invited India to bat.

Playing first, the Indian team scored a mammoth score of 385 runs in 50 overs with the help of centuries from captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill.

Chasing 386, New Zealand were all out for 295 runs in 41.2 overs and lost the match by 90 runs.

IND VS NZ 3rd ODI: Both Team Playing 11

One change has been made for New Zealand, with Jacob Duffy coming in place of fast bowler Shipley in the playing 11.

Two changes have been made from the Indian side. Both fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami have been rested today, in their place Umran Malik and Yuzvendra Chahal have found place in the playing 11 today.

Captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, both openers who came to bat for India, gave a good start to the team. Shubman Gill continued his form from the previous match and started playing the shorts from the start.

Holkar Stadium of Indore is known for batting due to its flat pitch. High scoring matches are seen here in most of the matches.

Both the batsmen started scoring freely from the beginning. Due to the flat pitch, there was no movement in the bowling and the ball was coming on the bat very easily.

Both the batsmen were in their full rhythm and started targeting the New Zealand bowlers. Kiwi skipper Tom Latham’s forehead was starting to look worried as none of his bowlers seemed to be proving effective.

Rohit’s century was the second against New Zealand and the 30th century of his ODI career. Shubman Gill also completed his century on the last ball of the same over. This was Shubman’s third century in the last four innings.

IND VS NZ 3rd ODI: 1st Wicket- Rohit Sharma got clean bowled on the first ball of the 26th over. Rohit missed trying to play a big shot on a ball from Michael Bracewell which was a little bit low and got out clean bowled.

Rohit Sharma contributed 101 runs with the help of 9 fours and 6 sixes and shared a 212-run partnership with Shubman Gill for the first wicket.

This ball of Tickner bounced a little more than normal, which Shubman Gill was caught by Conway at short cover in the course of playing a big shot.

Shubman played an innings of 112 runs in 78 balls which included 13 fours and 5 brilliant sixes before getting out.

After the dismissal of Rohit and Shubman, Virat Kohli and Ishaan Kishan came on the field and started taking the innings forward.

Both the batsmen looked in good touch and both played some good shots. But the partnership of both did not last long and Ishaan Kishan was run out in the 35th over.

Ishaan plays Jacob Duffy towards cover and starts taking quick runs. Kohli refused at first but after Ishaan’s call, he ran fast. But now Ishaan refuses to take the run and he turns towards his crease.

Virat Kohli did not stop after running once and both the batsmen ran in the same direction. Forced Ishaan to stay out of the crease for Virat and had to lose his wicket.

Ishaan Kishan went out of the ground in anger. However, Virat’s fault alone could not be said in this. Ishaan contributed 17 runs with 1 four and 1 six before getting out.

After 35 overs, India’s score was 273 for 3 wickets. Virat Kohli and Surya Kumar Yadav were batting on the field.

Virat Kohli was playing well today but got out caught trying to loft the second ball of the 37th over towards mid-off.

Made a very good comeback in the New Zealand team. Where India was seen going towards a big score, it was stopped to a great extent by the New Zealand bowlers.

On this ball of Jacob Duffy, Virat could not time it properly and the ball got into the hands of Finn Allen standing at mid-off. Kohli returned to the pavilion after scoring 36 runs.

Even Surya Kumar could not take advantage of this situation and after playing some good shots, he too got out. In the 39th over, he was caught by Devon Conway at long on off the bowling of Jacob Duffy.

India’s wickets continued to fall and Washington Sundar, who came in after Surya Kumar’s dismissal, also returned to the pavilion after being caught out in the 43rd over. He was dismissed by Tickner.

After six wickets, Shardul Thakur came on the field and he along with Hardik took the innings forward. Both initially saved wickets from falling and later played shots fiercely.

Shardul batted like a batsman and played a quick and crucial innings of 25 runs before getting out. He was dismissed by Blair Tickner for the seventh wicket.

Hardik Pandya was also scoring fast. For this reason, he also caught Devon Conway at long on off Jacob Duffy’s ball. Hardik quickly scored 54 runs in 38 balls with the help of 3 fours and 3 sixes.

India scored 385 runs losing 9 wickets in 50 overs and set a target of 386 runs in front of New Zealand.

No bowler got much help on a flat pitch and all the bowlers were thrashed. Jacob Duffy gave the maximum runs and he gave away 100 runs.

Jacob Duffy and Blair Tickner took the most wickets for New Zealand, both took 3–3 wickets. Apart from him, Michael Bracewell got one wicket.

Chasing the target of 386 runs, the start of New Zealand’s innings was not good. Finn Allen was already play-down on the second ball of the over by Hardik Pandya’s short pitch ball and was dismissed as New Zealand’s first wicket.

Nicholls, who came to the field after the dismissal of Finn Allen, opened the batting with Devon Conway and began to lead the innings. Both the batsmen started scoring runs quickly and started scoring runs all around the ground.

Both the batsmen started playing a bit cautiously in the beginning and added 73 runs for 1 wicket in 10 overs of the first powerplay.

Both the batsmen were in full swing and both started thrashing the Indian bowlers. Now both the batsmen were gradually dominating the Indian bowlers.

Till 25 overs, New Zealand were looking in a strong position by scoring 184 runs for 2 wickets, but in the very next over, Shardul put New Zealand in trouble by taking 2 wickets in the first 2 balls.

IND VS NZ 3rd ODI: 3rd Wicket- Daryl Mitchell scored 24 runs and became the victim of Shardul Thakur. Although no one understood whether the edge was applied or not, but on the appeal of Ishaan Kishan, the field umpire referred the decision to the third umpire.

The third umpire declared Mitchell out. However, Daryl Mitchell did not agree with the third umpire’s decision and left the field disappointed.

Devon Conway faced 100 balls in his innings and scored 138 runs. In this innings he hit 12 fours and 8 sixes. Devon Conway was dismissed as the sixth wicket.

Mitchell Santner came on the field for the seventh wicket and tried to score quick runs with Michael Bracewell.
