The fourth match of the Women’s T20 World Cup was played today between the arch-rivals (India and Pakistan).  The way the matches between India and Pakistan are tough in the men’s category matches, everyone expected that the same kind of competition would be seen in today’s match as well.

Today Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof won the toss and looking at the result of the last match (1st match of the World Cup) at this ground, Pakistan captain decided to bat first.

Playing first, Pakistan team scored 159 runs losing 4 wickets and set a target of 150 runs for victory in front of India.

Chasing the target of 150 runs, the Indian team achieved this target in 19 overs by losing 3 wickets and won the match by 7 wickets.

Jemimah Rodrigues was awarded the player of the match award for her match-winning innings.  He hit a half-century today and played an innings of 53 runs in 38 balls.  He also hit 8 brilliant fours in his innings today.

Today Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first.

Electing to bat first, Pakistan did not get off to a good start as opener Javeria Khan was stumped by Deepti Sharma in the very second over of the match.

After that, thanks to Captain Bismah Maroof’s brilliant half-century and Ayesha Naseem’s excellent batting, Pakistan scored 149 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs and set a target of 150 runs in front of India.

Captain Bismah Maroof and Ayesha Naseem scored the most runs for Pakistan, both contributing 68 and 43 runs respectively.

For India, Radha Yadav took two wickets, while Deepti Sharma and Pooja Vastrakar took one wicket each.

Chasing a target of 150, the Indian team got off to a strong start, with both openers Shefali Verma and Yastika Bhatia putting on a quick 38 runs for the first wicket.

Jemimah Rodrigues, who came on the field after the dismissal of Yastika Bhatia, batted brilliantly today. She hit a half-century today and didn’t get out till the end.

She shared a 28–28 partnership with Shefali Verma and captain Harmanpreet and finally shared a 57-run partnership with Richa Ghosh to win India the match with six balls to spare.

This target of 150 runs was achieved by losing 3 wickets in 19 overs and won the match by 7 wickets.

Rodrigues scored 58, Shefali Verma scored 33 and Richa Ghosh scored 31 in the ground for India.

For Pakistan, Nashra Sandhu got two and Sadia Iqbal got 1 wicket.

India chased the biggest score successfully

Chasing a target of 150 runs in India today, India beat Pakistan by 7 wickets, with this India chased the biggest score ever in T20 World Cup.

 At number one is England, who won in the 2009 T20 World Cup against Australia by chasing a target of 164 runs.
