Today, the fifth T20 match of the tri-series being played at the Buffalo Park Stadium in London started between the women’s team of India and South Africa.

India won the toss and elected to bat first Smriti Mandhana and Judy Rodricks started the match.

The first over was bowled by South African female bowler Shabnim Ismail and finished the entire over without conceding any runs. Smriti Mandhana played all the balls with respect while playing carefully in the beginning.

Nonkululeko Mlaba came to bowl in the second over. Jemimah Rodricks stopped the first two balls respectfully and hit a boundary on the third ball towards the covers. Rodricks played the next 3 balls of Nonkululeko Mlaba defensively to finish the over.

But as soon as that second over was over, it suddenly started raining, all the players had to run out of the ground.

After two overs, the Indian women’s team’s score was 4 runs without any wicket and Judy Rodrigues remained unbeaten on 4 runs in 6 balls and Smriti Mandhana on 0 runs in 6 balls.

Even after waiting for a long time, the rain was not taking the name of stopping. So at 9:25 pm, according to the local time of South Africa, the match was abondended by the field umpire and one point each was distributed between the two teams.

Today was a very bad day for the spectators who came to watch the match and it was also inevitable as the rain was not going to stop.
