Today, the sixth match of the Women’s T20 Tri Series was played between the women’s teams of India and West Indies at the Buffalo Ground in East London. Today India won the toss and captain Harmanpreet Kaur decided to bowl first.
Electing to bat first, the West Indies women’s team scored 94 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and set a target of 95 runs for victory in front of India.
Chasing a target of 95 runs, the Indian women’s team achieved the target of victory in 13.5 overs losing only 2 wickets and defeated the West Indies by 8 wickets.

Indian women’s bowler Deepti Sharma was awarded the player of the match award for her brilliant bowling, she bowled 2 overs in 4 overs of her spell and took three wickets for just 11 runs.

INDW VS WIW 6th T20: West Indies Batting
The West Indies, who came out to bat first, did not start as expected. Indian bowler Deepti Sharma taken 2 wickets of West Indies in the 4th over of the match.
INDW VS WIW 6th T20: 1st & 2nd Wicket- She clean bowled opener Rashada Williams on a personal score of 8 runs and then Shemaine Campbelle, who came to bat, was also bowled by Deepti Sharma on the very first ball for zero runs.
In the first power play, the West Indies women’s team scored 31 runs losing 2 wickets. Captain Haylay Matthews and Djenaba Joseph were present at the crease from the West Indies side.
INDW VS WIW 6th T20: 3rd Wicket- Then the third wicket of West Indies fell in the ninth over. Indian bowler Rajeshwari Gaikwad got Djenaba Joseph out lbw. Joseph contributed 3 runs.
After the first 10 overs, the total score of the West Indies women’s team was 46 runs and they had lost their main three wickets. Captain Matthews was still standing on the wicket.
INDW VS WIW 6th T20: 4th Wicket- Captain Matthews was also dismissed in the 12th over and West Indies’ fourth wicket fell as Mathews. He was caught out by Indian bowler Pooja Vastrakar at the hands of wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatia. Captain Mathews scored a brilliant 34 runs in 34 balls with the help of five fours.
After 15 overs, the total score of West Indies was 58 runs and four of its important players were dismissed and returned to the pavilion. In the last 5 overs, the West Indies team scored only 12 runs and had lost a big wicket in the form of captain Mathews.
INDW VS WIW 6th T20: 5th Wicket- West Indies’ fifth wicket fell in the form of shabika gajnabi in the 18th over. Gajnabi went ahead and tried to play a big shot on a tempting ball from Indian bowler Deepti Sharma but she missed and Indian wicket-keeper Yastika Bhatia showed speed to get Gajnabi out stumped.
INDW VS WIW 6th T20: 6th Wicket- West Indies’ sixth and last wicket fell on the last ball of the match. Aaliyah Alleyme is caught out by Pooja Vastrakar. Aaliyah Alleyme contributed a total of 10 runs.
West Indies women’s team scored 94 runs in 6 wickets in 20 overs and scored 95 runs to win against India.

INDW VS WIW 6th T20: 1st Wicket- Openers Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana started the match for India, but India’s first wicket fell in the second over itself. West Indian bowler Shamilia Connell clean bowled the batsman Smriti Mandhana. She returned to the pavilion after scoring 5 runs.
In the powerplay of the initial 6 overs, India had scored 36 runs losing 1 wicket. Jemimah Rodrigues and Harleen Deol stood firm on the ground from India.

After 10 overs, India’s score was 65 runs and they had lost only 2 wickets. India were now in a very strong position, with batsman Jemimah Rodrigues and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur on 28 and 16 respectively.
