Newlands Cricket Ground is also known as Six Gun Grill Newlands and it located near Rugby Union and Football stadium.

The pitch was first prepared in 1888 at the Newlands Cricket Ground. This ground is said to be one of the most beautiful cricket grounds in the world along with Devil’s Peak( South Africa), Table Mountain ( South Africa), The Adelaide and Oval Cricket Stadium located in Australia. It is situated behind Table Mountain and the stadium has a seating capacity of 25000 spectators.

The 1995 Rugby World Cup was hosted by the Newlands Cricket Ground. A total of 4 matches were played on this ground during that World Cup, which included one quarterfinal and 1 semi-final match. The viewership at that time was between 35,000–51,000.
