The fourth match of the Women’s T20 Tri Series being in South Africa was played today between the women’s team of South Africa and West Indies at the Buffalo Park Stadium in East London.

West Indies Captain Haylay Matthews won the toss and elected to bat first. West Indies scored 97 runs for six wickets in 20 overs and set a target of 98 runs against South Africa.

Which the South African women’s team achieved the target of 98 runs in 13.4 overs without losing wickets and won the match by 10 wickets.

Tazmin Brits was given the Player of the Match award for her excellent batting. She played an unbeaten inning of 50 runs in 43 balls with the help of 7 fours and 1 six.

SAW VS WIW 4th T20: 1st Wicket- Electing to bat first after winning the toss, West Indies got off to a poor start. In the very second over of the match, opener Rashada Williams fell victim to Nonkululeko Mlaba. Rashada William scored only 1 run.

South African bowler Nonkululeko Mlaba was very dangerous bowling. She did not give a single run in his 2 overs of her opening spell and took one wicket.

There was a lot of tight bowling from South Africa and the pitch was also helping the bowlers. Because of this, it was becoming very difficult for the West Indies batsmen to score runs.

The West Indies women’s team scored 97 runs losing six wickets in 20 overs and set a target of 98 runs to win against the South African team.

Chasing 98 runs for South Africa, openers Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits gave the team a great start.

Both the batter performed well and did not get out till the end. Tazmin Brits completed her half-century by taking 1 run on the fourth ball of the 14th over and gave her team a 10-wicket win.

Laura Wolvaardt scored 42 runs in 39 balls with the help of 6 fours while Tazmin Brits faced 43 balls and scored 50 runs. She also hit 7 fours and a brilliant six in her innings.
