The schedule of the first edition of the Women’s Premier League has been announced, the formalities of this announcement have been completed by the BCCI.
It was told by BCCI that this tournament will run for a total of 23 days and 20 league matches and 2 play-off matches will be played in this tournament.
Each team will play the other four teams twice in league matches and the top two teams will meet in the final.
A total of two venues have been selected for the Women’s Premier League 2023 tournament and both of these venues are located in Mumbai, the first being the DY Patil Stadium and the second being the Brabourne Stadium.
11-11 matches will be played on each ground and As per the match schedule, the day matches will start at 3:30 PM IST, while the evening matches will start at 7:30 PM IST.
The Women’s Premier League will begin with the opening match between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians, which will be played at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on March 4.

The last match of the league stages will be played between UP Warriors and Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium on March 21, while the Eliminator round match will be played at the DY Patil Stadium on March 24. The final match of the Women’s Premier League will be played at the Brabourne Stadium on 26 March.
Yesterday on Monday, the process of auction of Women’s Premier League was completed. All the five franchises (Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriors) together have signed a total of 87 players in the WPL auction, out of which the total number of overseas players is 30.
After the auction for the first edition of the Women’s Premier League which took place on February 13, the BCCI announced the match schedule of the league on Tuesday. The 24-day tournament will see 5 teams clash with each other and battle it out to lift the inaugural Women’s Premier League title trophy.
It is to be noted that Indian player and opener Smriti Mandhana got the highest bid in the Women’s Premier League 2023 auction in the first auction of the WPL edition held yesterday.

In the auction held on Monday, Royal Challenge Bangalore included Indian player Smriti Mandhana in their team by giving 3.4 crores.
Apart from them, Indian team’s most senior player and all-rounder Deepti Sharma was bought by UP Warriors for 2.6 crores and Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur was bought by Mumbai Indians for 1.8 crores.
